CONCRETE AGGREGATE SERVICES

We normally think of foundations as something for homes and buildings. However, even the roads we drive and the dams and reservoirs that dot our landscape need a good foundation. Our aggregate deliveries — often in the tens of thousands of tons — make that possible.

For more than a generation, builders, contractors, and municipalities needing recycled concrete products and concrete crushing in Omaha NE have turned to Valley Corporation. It has also found its way into many of our own projects as well. The use of recycled concrete products promotes sustainability and cost savings to owners.

Our Process

Our experience as civil contractors has taught us quite a bit over the years. To begin with, quarried aggregate is more expensive than recycled concrete products. The process of producing quarried aggregate is expensive since it needs to be mined. To mine, you have to excavate the land and use various equipment and processes to have usable material. This uses valuable natural resources and consumes energy. For that reason, we recycle concrete with crushing equipment into a number of products, from pipe bedding to riprap. The concrete which came out of a demolition project, is diverted from the landfill and turned into a useful product requiring little processing, saving energy and natural resources.

Concrete Aggregate Services

Our crushed concrete work is inseparable from the other services we offer.

  • Demolition, construction waste recycling, and concrete aggregates go hand-in-hand since recycling construction waste from our demolition work provides us with a great source of raw material that would otherwise end up in a landfill.
  • Crushed concrete used in gabion baskets and riprap also plays a part in soil stabilization, rolling back the ravages of time and erosion.
  •  Our work on utilities, sheet piling, and the supporting structures that underpin this area’s infrastructure also extensively uses crushed concrete at various points in the process.

Finally, our aggregate deliveries throughout the Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA area enable other contractors to leverage the same advantages and savings that we’ve taken advantage of over the years. Whether you require a small load, or a delivery in the thousands of tons, Valley Corporation has you covered.

CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL RECYCLING SERVICES

Valley Corporation believes in sustainability, in durability, and in finding smarter ways to keep our projects cost-conscious without sacrificing quality. We put these values into action daily by offering recycled concrete and asphalt services in Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA, alongside other means of diverting construction waste.

Recycled Asphalt

Roughly 100 million tons of asphalt is reclaimed per year, 95% of which finds its way back to our roads, highways, and parking lots. Recycled asphalt comes from the milled top layer of a driveway or road surface, leaving the sub-base intact; the reclaimed asphalt is pulverized and processed on-site, though it can also be taken off-site for further processing. This keeps tens of millions of tons of asphalt out of local landfills, reduces the use of virgin asphalt, and saves money.

Recycled Concrete

While asphalt may claim the crown for recycling, recycled concrete comes in a close second. Once our demolition services move out, our recyclers move in; the existing concrete mass has its rebar removed and the concrete further broken down using crushing and screening equipment. Transporting this equipment keeps us agile and mobile, but it serves another purpose as well: concrete recycling involves less use and transport of raw materials, making this an especially effective way to repurpose bulk concrete and keep projects cost-effective.

Recycled Aggregate Services

For nearly three decades, Midwest Aggregates, the aggregate recycling division of Valley Corporation, has offered recycled concrete and asphalt for sale. Our customers range from small retail orders to large-scale foundation work for the trade. We use our own crushers and screeners to economize on cost without compromising the quality of our finished materials, and we offer delivery service as well; as a result, we’re the aggregate recyclers of choice for individuals and contractors in Omaha, Nebraska, and Council Bluffs, Iowa areas.

Advantages of Construction Waste Recycling

Why are recycled aggregate, concrete, and asphalt better than disposal?

  • Strength: Recycled materials provide all the strength of their newer counterparts or outperform their newly manufactured counterparts in the case of asphalt, leading to higher durability and lower maintenance.
  • Sustainability: New concrete, asphalt, and aggregate are resource-intensive, using energy and raw materials and requiring transport. Recycling diverts materials from landfills, uses less energy, and decreases a project’s environmental footprint.
  • Cost Savings: Using less — less raw materials, less energy, and less reliance on transportation — means lower costs, to say nothing of the fees avoided by finding alternatives to disposal. Those savings add up for municipalities trying to squeeze every penny out of a bond issue, or developers trying to control costs.

Construction Waste Salvage

As a further service to our clients (and a spillover from our demolition services), we also offer a wide range of salvaged products, diverting still more construction waste from area landfills. Whether you seek sustainable disposal of construction waste, or you’re trying to save money by using salvaged items, get in touch for:

  • Recycled lumber
  • Reclaimed telephone poles
  • Antique brick pavers
  • Culverts
  • Cupolas
  • Retaining wall blocks
  • And much more

Construction Waste Recycling

The best-planned construction projects require contractors to evaluate not just the progress of a build, but to track the materials we’re using from cradle to grave. Recycling isn’t just a more sustainable choice; it’s a smarter and more cost-effective one.
