Platte River Obstruction Removal

PROJECT SCOPE

Valley Corporation began work in November of 2007 on a project for the Lower Platte NRD to remove large obstructions from a specific portion of the Platte River. The main focus of this job was the demolition of old bridge piers still standing in the Platte River. This project was completed in April of 2008.

MAJOR ITEMS OF WORK

    • 500 LF sand causeway constructed halfway across the river
    • 5,300 SF sheet pile cofferdams
    • 6 concrete bridge piers removed 8′ below river level
    • 12 wood pilings removed in their entirety
